“Upon this rock …..”
Matthew 16:18
When Jesus declared, “Upon this rock, I will build my church” He established an eternal truth, the CHURCH belongs to Him alone. It is built on the revelation of who He is -the Christ, the Son of the living God-not on human traditions, systems, or leaders. As the Sovereign head of His Church, Jesus retains full ownership and authority. He calls us as His followers to be fishers of men, drawing others into His kingdom, but He reserves the responsibility of transforming lives and “cleaning the fish” for Himself through His Word, Grace and the Power of the Holy Spirit.
No one, neither individuals nor institutions, has the right to claim ownership over His CHURCH or to act as ultimate judge. While God uses leaders within the Church to guide and shepherd, Jesus works through the Holy Spirit to correct, convict, direct, refine, and build His Body. Attempts by any group to usurp that role, undermine Christ’s authority. Jesus did not delegate His lordship over the CHURCH to any cultural or racial group. He alone shapes and steers the CHURCH in line with His divine will.
This truth serves as a reminder that our role is to humbly serve, obey and invite others to follow Him. We are stewards of grace not owners of the Church and it is Christ who perfects His bride, making her ready for His return.
The CHURCH must remain Christ-centered and Spirit-led, honoring the revelation that He is the firm foundation upon which everything stands.
“As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.”
Always encouraging reflection ✨🕯️🙏🏽
